Living in Denver and playing in Colorado your vehicle has needs not expressed in your manufacturers maintenance schedule. Identifying and explaining these maintenance needs as well as understanding your vehicle history are cornerstones to our maintenance and repair philosophy.
And it all begins with your vehicle inspection.
What does an inspection mean to you? A routine check up? A formality of review? A general survey?
At 3ZERO3 Motorsports inspections are never a formality. Our understanding of inspections is framed more in the medical sense of the word:
An organized examination and formal evaluation exercise. Involving the measurements, tests, and gauges applied to certain characteristics in regard to an object or activity. The results are compared to specified requirements and standards for determining whether the item or activity is in line with these targets.
Everytime your vehicle comes to 3ZERO3 Motorsports for service, repair, or tuning, the inspection is the first action performed.
After receiving the work order for your vehicle, one of our factory trained technicians will walk out to your vehicle and perform an exterior inspection. Walking around the exterior of the vehicle, and looking for any signs of exterior damage/impact, as well as ensuring that all tires do not appear to be under inflated or without sufficient tread depth is the first step in ensuring a safe test drive.
The test drive is not a customarily performed habit. This is one of the most dynamic and engaged components of the inspection. Here the technician is ensuring that all systems are operating and responding correctly; engine, transmission, steering, braking, suspension to name a few. In addition to these mechanical systems our technicians are monitoring electrical systems for correct operation, headlights, turn signals, climate control, as well as engine gauges and instrumentation. The technician is doing more than driving, he is listening, looking, feeling and getting accustomed to your vehicle. In the course of their training and work experience, our technicians know what to look for when driving your VW, Audi, and Porsche, and even minute distinctions in vehicle variances are never lost on them.
Once in the shop our technicians will begin their inspection on a vehicle service lift. While this a stationary activity for the vehicle, it can hardly be described as passive. Using specialized electronic diagnostic equipment we will communicate with every available electronic control module, and are interrogating each one for technical compliance and operation. Any concerns here are printed out, noted on your paper work, and stored in your customer file.

Under the hood technicians begin a calculated visual approach to their inspection. Not only are they looking for signs of concern today, the experience and training that belies them informs them on what may be of concern not only today, but tomorrow, next week, and next year. All major fluids here are inspected not only for an acceptable level, but also sufficient quality. Discoloration of brake fluid will lead to a water content test to ensure that your braking system is as safe as it can be. Low and/or dirty engine oil, not only gets topped off, but will get communicated to you the owner, that their may be a potential long term concern here. Coolant and washer fluid also receive this same scrutiny.
Once the underhood inspection is completed the vehicle is raised on the service lift. But it is not raised fully over head. The technician will raise the vehicle to eye level and begin their next round of examination; wheels, tires, brakes, and the first round of steering and suspension inspection.

Tires are inspected for any sidewall damage, debris in the tread, tire pressure is checked and adjusted, tread depth is measured, and all concerns noted by the technician.
The brakes are inspected not only for remaining pad and rotor material, but also for any signs of cracking, over heating, or scoring. Wheels are removed if necessary to ensure adequate access to these components.
Steering, suspension and driveline components are next on the list for our methodical analysis. Again, this is much more involved than a visual inspection. Control arms, and tie rod ends are visually examined, but also physically manipulated to ensure that each component is not exhibiting any excessive movement or play.
Moving from these mechanical systems the vehicle is raised overhead and the entire underbody of your vehicle is then inspected. Keeping an intent audit of the entire underbody, the technician is actively pursuing any possible concern related to vehicle health, maintenance and overall safety. Any fluid leaks found, are not only noted, but categorized. Sometimes we will note a mere ’seep’ and this is of a much different nature than a ‘leak’ or even a ‘gross leak’, each commanding a different timeline and approach to repair.

Our technicians have been passionately serving the needs of VW, Audi, and Porsche vehicles and customers for over 20 years combined. The type and length of their combined experience allows them to focus the scope of their inspection to the brand, make, and model of each vehicle they are servicing. A VW GTI and a Passat each have unique hardware and service needs. These distinctions help shape the focus of each technician as he begins your vehicle inspection.
3ZERO3 Motorsports prides itself on our level of service. We constantly strive to keep your best interests at heart, and it all starts with the vehicle inspection. We constantly go above and beyond for our loyal customers. We share this with you, to understand our passion, our perspective, and our craft.
