DRIVER EDUCATION COURSE ON GEORGETOWN LAKE
3ZERO3 Motorsports understands what it takes to safely navigate the often treacherous winter roads and highways of Colorado. Having an all wheel drive VW, Audi, or Porsche equipped with snow tires will certainly enhance your winter driving safety, but experience really is the best teacher. Out on the frozen surface of Georgetown Lake the Rocky Mountain Audi Club provides us all with the opportunity to learn to drive and control our vehicles in a safe and entertaining environment.
These photos are from our trip there in 2007, but in our continued efforts to be Colorados preeminent maintenance, repair, and high performance tuner, we thought it important to highlight the event here. ( or perhaps some of us are just getting ready for snow season !)

Certified Audi Club driving instructors took students thru a veritable buffet of driving exercises designed to take drivers and vehicles to the limits of adhesion and back. Each exercise was designed to simulate to potential real world scenarios, where the vehicle would lose traction and students would learn to remain calm and regain traction on the glare ice surface. Some of the exercises included ; the emergency lane change, braking and accelerating exercises, and my personal favorite the slalom course which had a dedicated group of fans cheering from the Georgetown Lake parking lot.

A3 staging for the next skill course
This event was a great opportunity for both the dedicated enthusiast as well as the casual owner to really get to know not only our vehicles but each other.

As soon as the sun came over the eastern ridge of town, temperatures increased, and people really warmed to the days activities. Some lucky owners even dropped the top of their cabriolets, and surely were the envy of the group. All in all the event was a great success for everyone involved.

Hi. I really like the old school red audi in the first picture. Where can I find one like that? How’s the engine on one of those?
Sarah Jane, I must say you have amazing taste. The car in question is a 1987 Audi 4000. These cars are very special, lots of character, and unbelievable in the snow. The 5 cylinder engines are built to last, as is the all wheel drive system with locking differentials ! I have a customer selling their Audi 4000, I will put the two of you in touch shortly. Thanks for your inquiry !!
Hey good stuff…keep up the good work!
Thanks Bill !
