Dubs Along the Rockies 2009 : Competitive Car Show

The Dubs Along the Rockies competitive car show continues to attract growing number of VW, Audi and Porsche enthusiasts to this compulsory Colorado event. Cars are available to compete amongst one of several categories ranging from the near stock, to dedicated custom vehicles.  The competitive car show gives participants an opportunity to compete and showcase their vehicles in and amongst their peers, but it also provides everybody at the show with plentiful amounts of German eye candy for as far as the eye could see. It should also be noted that people drove from as far as New Mexico and California to display their work at Dubs Along the Rockies. A testament to growing popularity of this event.

Like the ‘Birth of Cool’ by Miles Davis, the tastefully resorted MkI + MkII VW’s are timeless beauties, exuding European coolness from every angle.

Who isn’t a sucker for wide bodied German sport sedans ? Here Matthew Collins’ RS4 is looking particularly tenacious in the Colorado sun.

Pearl Mattox displays her lusty Audi R8. Can’t say enough about the boundless curb appeal this car commands. The R8 stops traffic everywhere it goes, especially amongst the Audi faithful.

Vortex superchargers on VR6 engines has long been a popular tuning option for  the power hungry Volkswagen enthusiasts, and this is a great example of a clean install on a daily driver.

Volkswagen Touareg sitting low on a polished set of multi piece 22 inch wheels.  22’s really seem to be a great size for this application, big enough to fill the wheel wells, without looking like 60″ rims.
