Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Greener by the Day, Recycling and Social Responsibility at 3ZERO3 Motorsports.

3ZERO3 Motorsports is committed to doing business the right way. This means an active and eager approach to GREEN social responsibility each day.

Reduce:

  • The amount of plastic containers for vehicle fluids
  • The amount of plastic containers used for cleaning products
  • The amount of shop supplies that are used each day
  • The amount of office supplied used each day

Reuse:

  • Vehicle components, both mechanical, electrical, and body
  • Entire vehicle systems
  • Cloth fabric shop towels

Recycle :

  • Scrap metal
  • Brake rotors
  • Batteries
  • Catalytic converters
  • Waste oils, and vehicle  fluids
  • Oil filters
  • Rubber tires
  • Office supplies ( still a work in progress !)

In todays day and age, we believe that recycling is a duty that befalls individuals and businesses alike. Owners and employees at 3ZERO3 Motorsports have a sense of responsibility that is informed  by more than a simple sense of responsibility. In addition to duty, our dedication to a greener Colorado is informed by our shared sense of passion and enthusiasm for the outdoors.

Like many of our customers the choice to live in Colorado is an active one. We choose to live in Colorado because we want to enjoy the mountains, the rivers, and all of Colorado’s wild spaces. It is because we care for and enjoy the outdoors, and want the next generation to have those same benefits, that we are encouraged to reduce, reuse and recycle, not only at home, but at work as well.

Here we see future team 3ZERO3 driver, Angus Stergar carrying used parts to the scrap metal bin.

Employees and technicians make sure that every used brake rotor, and piece of scrap metal makes it into this bin everyday, such that it is sent off for proper recycling.

green3

Here we see our 55 gallon drum of concentrated washer fluid. We purchase concentrated fluid and dilute it to meet the needs of colorado weather at our facility. From there we fill and reuse gallon containers for individual use. Buying in bulk and reusing these 55 gallon drums eliminates needless plastic containers.

green1

Behind Angus sits 2 55 gallon drums of Mobil 1 oil, one synthetic and the other conventional. Again buying oil in bulk eliminates the need for thousands of 1 liter plastic oil containers each week.

Sure buying in bulk saves money, and while doing this is an easy business decision. We do pay a premium to have hazardous and recyclable materials disposed and recycled properly.

green4

Angus stands ready to haul these used winter tires outside and take them to a local tire shop for recycling.

green7

If you have spent enough time in the waiting room, you will always hear our service advisors tout the fact that ‘we recycle 5 cylinder Audi vehicles’, but it’s true ! Vehicles that have been in crashes or have otherwise expired are always of use to us. From used engines, to fenders, to instrument clusters, seats and sunroofs, if there is a useable part on that car, we will find it and use it !

Please note : used parts are only installed on customers vehicles with their explicit knowledge and consent !

green6

Angus sifts thru some used Audi parts that he plans on installing on his Audi 20V rally car.

green5

Trying on a used seat for size. I think this one’ll do !

If you have any suggestions or comments that will help to make our shop and our planet greener, please contact us and share your ideas. This is an active and ongoing approach for us, we welcome your feedback !

3ZERO3 Motorsports is committed to being you green choice for Denver, Colorado; Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche maintenance, repair, high performance tuning and motorsports applications. For questions on high performance parts, high performance tuning, factory parts, mechanics, or any general questions on service and repair, please let us know !

PS, Angus is a handsome lil’ fella! I see Ralph Lauren photo shoots in his future if rally racing falls through.
